Petrosoft’s story begins with Sergei
When PetrolPlaza visited Pittsburgh, they made a pit stop at Petrosoft’s headquarters in Crafton, PA. During their visit, they interviewed Sergei Gorloff to learn more about his story. In the below video, he recounts how he turned from a Russian software engineer, at one time a rocket engineer, to a c-store owner and CEO, living “the American Dream.”
Why he founded Petrosoft
As a c-store owner, Sergei needed to manage his 20+ stores and organize his retail data. Petrosoft was founded to solve his back office challenges with cloud technology in 1998. If you think back to the internet before 2000, you might realize how ambitious this really was at the time.

The future of Petrosoft
Sergei’s focus on leveraging new technology shows that he and Petrosoft as a whole intend to make a large impact on the future of the c-store industry, including back-office software, inventory management, loss prevention, foodservice and point-of-sale technology.
